March 13, 2020 COVID 19 Update

Dear Members and Friends,

MCLC recognizes that this is a scary time. For most of us, this experience is the first of its kind. Congregations like ours across the country prayerfully are discerning how best to respond in a way that offers spiritual support and shows appropriate care for slowing down the transmission of COVID 19 .

The staff at MCLC has decided that we WILL hold worship this Sunday. However, we will continue to monitor the recommendations of the experts and respond accordingly. We will let you know as best we can if something changes before Sunday and in the days and weeks to follow. We hope that you will help us spread the word to those who are a part of our community, both members and friends.

In an effort to minimize the spread of any virus we ask that:

1. Anyone who is not feeling well or is vulnerable to illness will stay home. As your community of faith, we will be providing alternate ways to stay connected.

2. If you attend worship:
+ that you space yourselves at least 6 feet apart from each other. We have space in the side pews and balcony to accommodate this.
+ do not shake hands but offer a wave or a smile instead.

We have made other adjustments to the worship service including:
+use of gloves for those serving communion with communion served in individual glasses
+the offering plate will be available in the aisle rather than passed in the pew
+We continue to offer hand sanitizer throughout the worship space and we wipe down public contact areas regularly.

In all things, we believe that God’s presence- wherever we are- unites us. We hold onto this hope as we journey together through these uncertain times. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

In Christ’s love,
Pastor Sally and MCLC Staff
